Located in the countryside, by the sea or in the mountains, the “gîte de charme” is usually an independent house full of character, with a quality label of 3, 4 our 5 “épis”; you will be able to rent it for a week or a weekend, with your family or friends. The owners of “gîtes de charme” are attentive to the quality of the interior decoration.

Castles, manor houses, country houses, traditional mountain chalets or Provencal “mas” are amongst the 530 “gîtes de charme”, in which you will benefit from a peaceful and carefully maintained environment, and sometimes from additional services (indoor and outdoor swimming pools, billiards or games room, Jacuzzis…).

Gîtes de France® selection criteria for “gîtes de charme”

The Gîtes de France® quality label guarantees that you will enjoy specific comfort regulations and compliance with a national charter. Our departmental offices regularly control these gîtes.

Atmosphere and charm are the two privileged characteristics of “gîtes de charme”. These houses full of character associate interior comfort and architectural quality. They always include an equipped kitchen, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, a dishwasher, a colour television, a telephone, etc. Some owners offer on-site activities (tennis, billiards, sauna, horse riding…). Most of the time you will enjoy a spacious garden or a park.
